We are so thankful for 20 years of serving the HG community and look forward to another 20. Our resources have helped over 2 million people across 95% of the world! This demonstrates that credible and innovative HG information is a global need, and we are succeeding!
2020 has been a year of both challenges and exciting new developments. We launched our new mobile-responsive website with expanded and interactive content as well as our 1 MOM is 2 Many collaborative advocacy campaign to reduce complications of Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG). We also expanded our global reach by adding brochure translations in Indonesian with Bhasa Malaysia, French, and Hebrew in process. We are in discussions with organizations in Africa and Asia to do training and offer our resources, and our crisis care and community support are expanding. It’s a very exciting time of growth! Along with these new opportunities, however, comes the absolute need for more staff and resources. We are seeking grants and other sources of funding but rely on your donations to be there for the mothers and babies in need of our help.
Thank you so very much for your ongoing support and the many ways you help! We are grateful you have sustained this important work. Since inception of this Foundation, the unwanted termination rate due to HG has dropped from 15% to 6%! For thousands of families, this means a chance at a family they so desperately want.
Still, in the past few months, we have had women in several countries, including the United States, literally starving to death at mid-pregnancy, and thus at very high risk for life-threatening complications and loss of their precious baby. Immediately, we gathered our clinical team and referral coordinator together working many hours, over days, nights and weekends to ensure adequate support and resources for these families. We are thankful that all have survived to date, though some mothers delivered early. This work is only possible because of your support of HER Foundation. We are the only voice many women have when facing HG.
