Calling all podcast lovers! HER Foundation’s very own Co-founder and Executive Director Kimber MacGibbon, RN, was interviewed about Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) and HER’s mission and work on the October 2, 2020, episode of the Connect Kindness Podcast.
The podcast is part of the Connect Kindness mission to connect people with nonprofit organizations to inspire kindness. The podcast features founders and directors of organizations, so listeners can learn more about the nonprofits and hopefully join in the work of the featured organizations.
In her interview, Kimber opens up with information regarding her personal connection to HG. She notes some of the famous faces who have experienced HG in their pregnancies’ to allow listeners to make connection to HG through celebrities like Kate Middleton, Kelly Clarkson and Amy Schumer. The conversation covers common symptoms and treatments for HG and the aftermath as seen through complications with HG babies.

Kimber adds that HER is working to standardize treatment and that education of health professionals is important in making sure HG moms have the vital care they need during and after pregnancy. The long term goal is “a future where HG may occur but severe symptoms are rare.”
