Welcome Cal! Whereabouts are you in the UK? We have quite a few ladies scattered about the UK...maybe some of them are close to you. Congratulations on your new pregnancy! Do you have a decent doctor? Will they start you off on meds early on? The preemptive treatment does prevent some ladies from getting very bad.

Hi Ali,

Welcome to HER. Great you have found us, always good to have another Kiwi here. We're dairy farming just out of Te Puke. If there is anything I can do to help just ask.

Look forward to getting to know you.

Hi Jaymee and welcome. Hope you feel at home here. We have a great bunch of women here and quite a few UK'ers so if there's anything we can do let us know.

hello, I'm from belgium, the flemish (=dutch) speaking part.
not a lot of belgians on this site, although I have been passing it on to people. anyway, it's better to stay a bit anonymous anyway.

Hi,

My name's Elise, I'm from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

This is my first HG pregnancy (that I'm aware of...) I've had two m/c's, and although I was sick, I didn't get far enough into the pregnancies to really know for sure.

It's been a roller coaster, but I'm glad I have all the ladies here for support! This place is my saviour!

Elise

Hello all!

I am Kirsten. My family moved to southern Germany (Bavaria) just last October (2007) as missionaries. We have 3 kids who have quickly picked up the language.

I was pregnant this year already Feb-May with my 3rd severe case of HG and the hospitals refused to give me Zofran... would simply come in the room to give me a clean bowl... and let me go on for days. We finally had my Dr. in the US fax info stating I had had Zofran before- then they gave it to me. Unfortunately, I still lost my baby at 13 weeks. At least I know better how to communicate with them next time to get them to do things.

I'm glad to have found this Forum. Very helpful as we consider going through this all again.

I am from the Philippines. I am an HG survivor and now ligated after 3 kids. My OB is (unfortunately) the head of this all natural pregnancy at the hospital. She's been my only OB. She knows our financial situation so she avoids confining me. But with my 3rd and last (and worst HG), i was put on iv, metoclopromide and ranitidine (tablets at home). Never heard of pumps before and i have yet to read on the medications in this forum. My OB only wants to avoid any risks for the baby. But i wish i was given more care as i felt i was dying every minute of everyday. The healthcare team said it hard to treat pregnant women as they are restricted to just a few known safe interventions to prevent harming the baby. This hospital is already the best here and is known abroad as well. So i guess this is the best that can be done here right now :(
