About HER Foundation

On September 29th, 2005, the HER Foundation was invited to conduct a briefing about HG on Capitol Hill in Washington DC. A briefing is an opportunity to present information related to your cause to members of congress. Because briefings are held simultaneously, congressional members must choose which to attend or send their aides to. Others in attendence include lobbyists and HER Foundation supporters.

Our briefing was sponsored by Congressman and Dr. Dave Weldon (FL-15) and Representative Xavier Becerra (CA-31). Mr. Bacerra spoke about HG and became interested after speaking with his wife who is a practicing perinatologist. Many of those on our advisory board and a few dedicated members, as well as others who have been dramatically impacted by HG spoke about the impact of HG. The theme was focused on the many losses of HG and the need for research funding, as well as the message that there is hope.

Even if you were unable to attend, you can still help by contacting your congressional members to increase awareness, and assist us in acquiring funds for our collaborative research projects with the University of Southern California (USC in LA). (See more in our Mission & Goals)

Following are some of the speeches and presentations given at the briefing.
